Description
Hi,
I'm new to this; just trying to be helpful, so sorry if I am doing something wrong!
But here:
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/cellular/hardware.html
Is a list of known working 3\4G cellular devices.
The TP-Link M7350 is listed in the "Modems reported to work as Ethernet devices" section, which is a bit misleading as the M7350 doesn't have an ethernet port itself, so it requires a laptop connected to the WAN port by ethernet and then the M7350 connected to the laptop via USB. And yes, it worked, but in that way, surely any modem will work (so long as the laptop supports it) and it's not really connected via just ethernet?
But more importantly, I also just connected it directly to the USB port of my SG-3100 and it was instantly identified (as port UE0) and once I created an interface for it, it worked perfectly to connect to the Internet through. So I can confirm it is known to be working.

"Modems reported to work as Ethernet devices" is exactly what you describe in your second scenario. ue0
is an "Ethernet device" to pfSense software.
Some other modems only appear as serial ports and require using PPP. "Ethernet device" modems present themselves as USB Ethernet devices (ueX
