Description

After updating the system_patches package to 2.2.29 and enabling the Redmine#16799 patch, a login via LDAP over SSH isn't longer work.

The problem is already described in comment #8 of Redmin#16799.

However, in my case, there is no boot error message indicating a missing file under /var/etc/pam_ldap.conf

It is working here when I test it on a fully patched CE 2.8.1. It lets me login when the user is a member of the group and rejects it when they are not.

It's possible there is something not quite right in your configuration or some incompatibility with your LDAP schema.
