Description

As with DNS, (optionally) allow the upstream DHCP server to provide NTP servers to the firewall.

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

The server entered for pfSense is used by the NTP daemon as its upstream source - you can't have pfSense use only its own NTP service on its own without an upstream server. If you want to change it, change it in System > General Setup.

pushing the official NTP-servers (counting 3) for my country by DHCP - so it is a reputable source declared by law.

pfSense does not take the config i provide:
i want new boxes to accept the NTP-server (all 3 ;) declared above (by DHCP on WAN) to be the default time-source as stated - so having 3 servers in ntp.conf

maybe also some feature: accept NTP-servers provided by DHCP (checkbox)

follow-up needed?:
ntp.conf and system.php accepts more than 1 entry but GUI shows just one entry (default: ntp.conf= 3 entries; GUI showin 1 entry)

  • Status changed from Rejected to New

ok I misunderstood what you were talking about there. I fixed the description to be more clear.
