Description

When using the shaper wizard, the text description for VoIP prioritization by address isn't consistent with the resulting rule.

The text description says "This allows you to just provide the IP address of the VOIP adaptor to prioritize", but the resulting rule is set on the WANs, in any direction, with a source of that IP address. The text implies that is a local IP address of a VoIP phone/device, but the behavior is such that it would only work if that was the remote PBX IP.

Because the rule is on the WANs, NAT would have already applied, so a private source address would never match.

The fix would be one of three things:
  • Fix the text description so it clearly states that is supposed to be the remote PBX/Trunk IP
  • Fix the rule so it's on the LANs with the private source, not WANs
  • Give the user the option to choose either/or of the behaviors
