Description
The web configuration currently does not support the creation of GIF interfaces that use a virtual IP address.
There is a patch that enables the usage of VIP addresses here [1], but there currently is no gateway handling.

we've been using gif with CARP virtual IPs for ages, works fine. IP aliases don't show in the list

GIF can use IP aliases just fine with 2.3+.
