Description

Hi all,

I'm referring to http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,57012.0.html

My preferred way would be to add a switch into the RFC 2136 options dialogue. With this, one could define if

  • the update of that dDNS address should simply take the interface address of the selected interface (default behaviour now)
    OR
  • do a check of the IP address via an external service (just like checkip.dyndns.org) to set that dDNS address to the correct IP when behind some sort of cable modem/router or another gateway that can not be avoided.

So the user can define on a per entry basis if the nsupdate would be run with the IF address or the corrected NATted external IP.

Perhaps that could be included for testing in the 2.1Beta?

Thanks and greets,

Jens
