Initial documentation at https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=75766

Steps to reproduce:

1. Change WAN interface to a static IP

4. Release and renew lease on client
5. Check routing table, no default gateway.

Observed on 2.1 - 2.1.2.

I have to disagree that this is a misconfiguration and not a bug. The "misconfiguration" is not adding a default gateway, which is perfectly reasonable. Some people end up using pfSense for strictly internal networks, and have no need of a default gateway. It seems nonsensical that not having a default gateway defined would cause this behavior.
