Description

Inserting a custom rule before the private and bogon rules would be useful, e.g. to insert a custom non-logging rule before the pre-defined logging rules.

History

#1 Updated by Chris Buechler about 10 years ago

  • Tracker changed from Bug to Feature
  • Project changed from pfSense Packages to pfSense

#2 Updated by Chris Buechler about 10 years ago

  • Subject changed from Impossible to change sequence of firewall rules to Allow moving of bogon and RFC 1918 rules

Not a bug, that's the intended behavior. Moved to feature request.

Can we please do something about this? Or make a checkbox for logging (http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,34436.0.html)? This makes logs flooded with useless nonsense, such as DHCP broadcasts (http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=14131.0) which cannot be avoided without completely disabling both private and bogon rules.

I'd have to agree with what Doktor Notor wrote above, and I'd rather strongly agree: this takes hours and hours to try to solve when you are a noob, and I am missing the point of why this is happening in the first place :-( I would extremely very much appreciate it if this could be changed into something more 'comfortable'. Thank you :-)

Checkboxes for logging were added yesterday in a19fcb824c8d443cafa42f7d826407e475f40fa8

Moving to "real" rules will have to wait for 2.2 at a minimum.
