Hello,

I spent the better part of a day trying to figure out why some firewall rules I added to a WANS interface group (Wan1 + Wan2) were not working. Eventually came across a post saying interface groups are not to be used with multi-wan and that they are really meant for BGP/failover with interfaces.

Would be great if this was clearly documented and users warned, because it is sorely tempting to use that feature for multi-wan to cut down on redundancy of rule entry.

The 2.1 pfsense book shows an example of an interface group with LAN + WAN (not clear how that's useful) and doesn't properly specify the correct scenarios where interface groups should be used.
