Description

when u set a gateway monitoring IP, it results in all traffic going out of that gateway only, it would be better if only the icmp packet was sent out of that gateway and for rest of the traffic follow the firewall rules

that's how things have to work. Traffic from clients in those circumstances should be hitting rules specifying gateway groups or a specific gateway if you want a different path.
