Note: The ue0 interface was successfully setup through the webGUI and was passing traffic, after a system reboot the Console Interface Configuration wizard ran and wanted to setup all interfaces again as if they were never configured.

general issue with something to do with that card, it doesn't get picked up as a NIC after a reboot.

may need to do a mode switch of some sort, along these lines:

I suspect a mode switch might suffice, otherwise it'll need to be reported upstream to be fixed in FreeBSD.

The USB device is a Verizon UML295, which is listed in the list of Known Working 4G Modems: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Known_Working_3G-4G_Modems

Also, the instructions for setting up the 4G modem are incorrect an do not work.

This device apparently doesn't work. Could we get updated instructions on how to make it work?

should just need the mode switch for that to work.

Same results after changing the mode using the guide above.

The Pantech UML295 works fine when added through the webGUI. After a reboot it presents you with the Console Interface Configuration Wizard, which will not accept ue0 as an applicable interface. ue0 is the interface that was shown in the webGUI but is not accepted in the Console Interface Configuration Wizard.
