For past couple days have not received any email notifications of created or updated bug reports.

Doesn't seem to be so. Still not receiving any Redmine bug update email notifications. Not even one for this bug report being updated/closed.

they're being sent, and your MX is accepting.
after the redmine upgrade there may be diffs in what it emails you, check your account settings.

Email notifications is set for "Only for things I watch or I'm involved in".
In the past that apparently included not only tickets I opened but also tickets I responded to.
Has that change?
Received notification for my previous two replies in this ticket as well as your most recent reply.
But not for our activity in ticket 5905.

Which is really strange because I cannot find them anywhere.

- Click "My Account"
- Change nothing
- Click Save
Until I did that yesterday the messages I received were hit and miss, despite being set to receive everything. Since I re-saved my preferences, I've received every one I should have. Unless something else changed around the same time, in which case it's the best coincidence :-)

I've done that several times already. The only difference is that I started receiving for this ticket.
