Description

ntopng does not start on up to date pfsense install. ntopng is installed & configured but trying to access it the page never ends loading and eventually times out. pfsense system logs show:

[HTTPserver.cpp:503] ERROR: Unable to start HTTP server (IPv4) on ports 3000: Address already in use

This used to work.

pfsense version:

2.3.2-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Tue Jul 19 12:44:43 CDT 2016
FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p5

If it says that, then it's either already running or something else is using the port. Please post on the forum until a more specific bug can be identified, if one exists.

OK I opened a thread on the forums. I may also have found the issue. It could be that ntop (the old package) is running on port 3000. ntop was not installed manually but would have been installed as an orphaned package when I restored my config after I reinstalled everything from scratch on 2.2

The package ecosystem is a mess and requires a cleanup.
