Description

We have this forum https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=126309.0, and i have the same version of the problem on the forum.
Squid with SSL splice all use all memory and stop the internet.

2.3.3-RELEASE (amd64)

FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p16

Squid vesion on packages

squid www 0.4.36_3

and squidGuard version on packages

squidGuard www 1.16.2

I did the update to pfsense 2.3.4 with new verion of squid, but still have the problem, memory used by squid only grow up never release memory space.

This is an upstream bug with no fix and no good workaround for 3.5.x - cf. http://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4005 - a.k.a. upstream sucks.

Note: Setting "SSL Certificate Deamon Children" to 1 (or just something lower that the default 5) should help due to the way how dynamic_cert_mem_cache_size is configured by the package [1], but obviously will cause issues with busy proxies.
