Hi,
Just upgraded from latest stable to next major version 2.4.0-RC today via gui.
Only major problem I have is suricata starting up and then exiting with error:
Sep 24 13:34:00 kernel pid 39811 (suricata), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped)
Not sure why this is happening. Or how to get more information about why suricata stops suddenly and won't restart unless I reinstall.
I tried reinstalling and everything seemed to be working but then it crashed again.

I found the core dump file.
I couldn't upload the .core file here as it is huge...

Did a fresh reinstall and restored the backup and still got same issue.

This does not appear to be a general issue with suricata, but may be specific to your configuration or installation. Please post details about the crash to the IDS/IPS board on the forum to engage the package maintainer about what might be causing the crash: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?board=61.0
The core file won't be much help since it is not built with debug symbols, but if you can provide any other log entries from the system log or suricata specifically, it may help. Also include details about the configuration of suricata in your post. The package maintainer may request additional information beyond that.
