Description

There seems to be a few threads where users have issues because mask defaults to /32

Would it be possible when setting ipv4 static IP on interface that mask defaults to /24 vs /32
IPv6 should default to /64 vs /128

I believe this will reduce configuration errors by new users not catching the mask is not what they want, etc.
See attached image showing the default when selecting static for an interface.

  • Category set to Interfaces
  • Status changed from New to Rejected

For IPv4, /24 is just as likely to be wrong for some interfaces as /32 (especially WANs). It might be easier for some users, but it's a safer default to reduce the likelihood of accidentally breaking connectivity.
