Description
upgrading sg-8860 unit with online upgrade trashes unit to non-working state (packages, libraries missing and so on)
how to reproduce: do clean install on 2.3.5 on sg-8860 and upgrade it to 2.4.2. after booting the unit is nonworking and complains missing libraries and so on.
Installed ADI 2.3.5-RELEASE on SG-8860-1U
An upgrade displayed for 2.4.1
Selected the option to upgrade and was upgraded to 2.4.2 without issue.
I didn't see any errors about missing packages when it booted up after the upgrade and internet connectivity is working.
Perhaps there is a file-system issue here or the upgrade did not complete properly for some reason.
Are you able to install ADI 2.3.5-RELEASE on this board without errors, then upgrade and still see the errors?
The release process includes testing fresh installs and upgrades across all Netgate hardware and no issue was identified during testing.

well. tried multiple times installing 2.3.5 from scratch and then updating the device. only reinstall with 2.4.2-ADI + config restore worked.
- Status changed from New to Rejected
- Priority changed from Urgent to Normal
Unable to reproduce the issue. It works here when we try it and as Clinton said that is a test we run before every release on all our currently supported hardware models, including the 8860.
If you can determine a more precise and repeatable method to reproduce the problem, please let us know.
