Feature #10486
closedFeature Request: Ability to transmit to remote syslog server via TCP
0%
Description
For those of us who care about our logs and want to ensure we don't drop events, it's standard practice to configure our security devices to transmit syslog over TCP, sometimes with TLS enabled. UDP's weakness is its fire and forget nature.
I was wondering if it was possible to get this feature into the queue.

- Project changed from pfSense to pfSense Packages
- Category set to syslog-ng
- Status changed from New to Rejected
This is already possible with the syslog-ng package. The base system syslog daemon does not support TCP.

Sorry to barge in, but I can't find any way to configure syslog-ng to send logs via TCP and TLS. Search skills might be low today for me.
