This makes finding information and help for the package rather difficult.

I added a link to the forum thread on the docs page. Having a link to the forum thread for assistance is good.
The right place for the package to link is the docs page, and that is (ideally) where information should be concentrated, rather than making people dig through a forum thread for usage info.
