Do you mean increase? Decreasing distance would make them closer together and more likely to be hit accidentally.
Of coarse, take my apologies for misstyping.
Increasing the space for everyone would make the formatting a lot worse since horizontal space is already at a premium in lines like that. Seems like something that might be better handled with a new theme for that sort of use case.
Sounds reasonable, and also better to REMOVE MARGINS ON BOTH SIDES in webGUI.

I've gotten used to the pinch and zoom when doing stuff on mobile. Yes the buttons are small, but I agree with Jim - we shouldn't waste that precious hspace just for those rare cases when you're deleting a rule from your iPad etc.
A dedicated mobile-friendly theme would be great!

That’s not a rare case. Most of time maintenance SysAdmins / NetEngeneers making from tablets or 15-16” nettops...

Not agree with this: 10+ years of mobile app development show that mobile app UI usability on smartphone are VERY different from tablets and VERY different from desktop. 3 different worlds.
(This is also a main reason, why “adaptive” design of web app on mobile devices ARE WORST than native app thru API).
But with pfSense CE we just need a little tuning” of webGUI, because a lot of pages with tables with a lot of columns.
For now just REMOVE MARGINS ON BOTH SIDES in webGUI.
