Description

I'm running a 2100 which I've updated and is the latest stable version (22.01) as of this writing.

Clicking the red circled question mark in the following pfSense pages results in going to the pfSense book's index page instead of where appropriate (after the redirection from the firewall's help.php, I mean):

System / Setup Wizard - instead of here. Incidentally, the tip about the setup wizard being optional could be modified to specify that it's optional after the first time it's run at installation, as is the case if I recall correctly.
Status / Dashboard - instead of here.
Firewall / pfBlockerNG (running devel version) - instead of here seeing as there's no page for the devel version I guess? Or is this link and/or its contents something the developer of pfBlockerNG-devel has to provide?

I'd also appreciate it if these go to the switch-overview.html page specific to the model in question, for example (or if this is also available in the free version, figure something out that allows it to go to the appropriate switch overview page in that case too), seeing as they don't have dedicated pages to themselves as far as I can tell:
Interfaces / Switch / System
Interfaces / Switch / Ports
Interfaces / Switch / VLANs
(I wouldn't mind a more in-depth explanation of the workings of the Members column of "Interfaces / Switch / VLANs," by the way, instead of just a straight-forward "how-to", though that's appreciated!)

Lastly:
System / Update / System Update - points here instead of here.
System / User Mananger / Settings - points here instead of here.

This issue is per a recommendation on the Netgate forum.

  • Subject changed from Red circled question mark on various admin GUI pages leads to incorrect documentation pages. to Help link on some pages doesn't lead to documents the user might expect
  • Assignee set to Jim Pingle

The wizard is always optional, even the first time. You can click the logo to skip it.

The switch bit isn't viable as you ask, the help link logic isn't smart enough to put in its own model number, but it could at least land on a more appropriate general page.

The update bit leading to the package manager isn't going to be avoidable as both the package manager and updates use the same page in different ways

I'll see what I can do about the others.

These are all taken care of now, at least what is possible.

These redirects are handled server side so the fixes are live for everyone even on existing installations without upgrading.
