This page does not mention there is a package called Shellcmd which is a lot less risky for newbies and thos not very experienced with pfSense.

It's mentioned right there in the second paragraph.
The package itself doesn't have any documentation except for what is on that page, but there are hardly any options and they're all explained on the page as it is.
