Bug #1395

RRD data not collecting accurate information
Added by David Miller over 13 years ago.

Description
I noticed that after switching over our IPSEC tunnels over to pfSense 2.0 RC1 that there was a strange spike in outbound traffic mirrored in the Opt Wan interface that was really going out of the Wan interface. I've confirmed this by cross checking the data using our external snmp monitoring and have attached an image that shows the discrepancy. I also did a number of packet captures that confirmed that the traffic being associated with both WAN interfaces was indeed only on the Wan interface.
My setup is as follows. WAN and Opt Wan interface are in a gateway group with the Opt Wan as Tier 1 and Wan in Tier 2. And Opt Wan is the default gateway.
I also have a thread on the support forum which can be found at http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,34834.0.html

I just noticed that this problem appears to be fixed. I'm not sure when this behavior changed but this bug can be closed.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll mark it as resolved.
I need to open this one back up. :(
I'm not sure what build this behavior returned but I'm now seeing the traffic from a IPSEC tunnel that's terminated on WAN1 show up in the rrd graphs for both WAN interfaces. And as before my external snmp monitoring is only showing this traffic on WAN1.
Oh I should have mentioned that my current build is a week or so old.
2.0-RC3 (i386) built on Fri Jul 15 05:55:15 EDT 2011
I'll upgrade to the newest build next week after I get back from vacation. Since everything else seems to be working I don't want to risk any changes before my vacation.
