Description
Unicast CARP was added to Plus recently and needs documentation:
- New option on CARP VIP config to pick Multicast (default, classic style) or Unicast
- When choosing Unicast, must fill in the Peer Address (real address of the other node)
- Can work to perform failover in environments that lack multicast support or have problems with multicast.
- Does not share a MAC address, so may be friendlier in environments that lock down MAC changes (e.g. vmware)
- May not need vmware promisc mode either
