Description

Provide a way through the ntop settings GUI to pass along the ability to upgrade to the Pro version. Perhaps have an installation.key option available.
Community edition is fine but the ability to to have historical data which the Pro version has would be operationally effective as there are no current built in tools that has this.

Hi, I thought I was the only one with this issue. I need to install my NTOPNG Pro license on Ver 23.05.1 but even if I remove PFSENSE NTOP package, the new FREEBSD 14 package from NTOP will not install. I used it successfully on FreeBSD 12 PFSense version. Help please.

Just an update to say I have now successfully installed NTOPNG Pro version, via console, and licensed it on latest version of pfSense Plus. Can provide my install method if requested.

Russ - Can you provide the documentation on how you did it?

There really needs to be an "approved" Netgate way of passing on the license key. The community edition is useless without the historical report of top talkers. There is no value in having the community edition if any of the useful features are paywalled

Mike, I can send details no problem at all, however, pfsense have released an updated Plus Version 23.09 based on the latest official release of FreeBSD 14. To install NTOPNG with license option, make sure pfsense ntop package is not installed, then log in via Putty or similar, and follow NTOPNG instructions for FreeBSD 14. It now installs without issue. Same for latest community version. Cheers

Found this link here in the documentation
Is this what you mean?

https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/third_party_integrations/pfsense.html

Do the paid features come across correctly in pfsense? All interfaces, top talkers, etc ?

Mike

No, wrong link, go to this one.

https://packages.ntop.org/FreeBSD/

As mentioned, use Putty as admin, cut and paste the commands etc.

Cheers
