Description

The first time you insert the 3g modem it will work properly, if you disconnect or soft reboot ppp can't connect stating the device isn't responding to AT commands. If you take the modem out and reinsert it then it can redial.
As a workaround I installed minicom pkg_add -r minicom and am running a cron script every minute to start minicom via screen then pkill it.

ppp scripts should reset the device before attempting to dial.
