Bug #15472
open
potential bug with the ath driver
Added by Jonathan Lee 12 months ago.
Updated 5 months ago.
Affected Architecture:
SG-2100
Description
I am having crash and system panics when the ath driver goes full tilt. I didn’t notice it until recently with change over to fiber optic line went from 6mbps to 1gbps at that point the ath could be utilized at it’s maximum speeds, how ever it crashes the system.
AR9280 chipset
Per TAC support I was told to open a redmine for it after they reviewed my crash reports

Support ticket 2701044255
Attached is swap crash report
Side note this does not occur when "only" 802.11A is running. Example using Channel 165
I actually could not resolve this issue even with a new 2nd Compex card installed, the same thing occurred it would go into reboot mode to much with the 1GBs fiber speeds.
Does this still happen with the newer drivers in 24.03? That crash is in 23.05.1.
I have not been able to test this in the other version because I am in class currently and it is finals week. The system is on my most stable boot environment and I can not get time to swap out the SSD to the WiFi environment, yes that one is on a different SSD don’t ask me why. I will next break to test the driver

Hello Jonathan,
Since there have been two releases since this bug was opened with significant driver improvements across the board, please test on 24.11 and let us know if this issue is still present, when able.
