Bug #16560
openNetgate Installer Occassionally Duplicates Characters and Displays Black-on-Black Text
0%
Description
When booting the installer over serial, often the installer will have "duplicated" output like this:
//bboooott//ccoonnffiigg:: --SS111155220000 --DD
C Co on ns so ol le es s: : i in nt te er rn na al l v vi id de eo o/ /k ke ey yb bo oa ar rd d s se er ri ia al l p po or rt t
I have observed this behavior on the 7100 and 4200, but it may affect other platforms. The problem appears to resolve itself once it gets past the bootloader stage.
Tested on Netgate Installer 1.1

I can confirm the behavior described in the ticket subscription.
Additionally, the color switches from default colors to black-on-black during the bootloader, shortly after the line: //boot//config:: --S115200 --D.
Once the installer starts, it's displayed normally.

I can also confirm this behavior. This makes selecting the serial console output type very difficult, as you cannot read the text.
Updating title to reflect this.

Tested on 1.1.1 version of the installer. Issue is still present there.
