Bug #16619
closedNotifications - Email auth password cannot contain "-" character, else is truncated
0%
Description
I was knocking my head against the wall for close to an hour before it even occurred to me this might be a bug.
My outgoing SMTP email notifications setup was failing despite multiple attempts/confirmations that all settings were valid.
Upon inspection of the raw config XML, I noticed that the email password (which was autogenerated by Mailgun and contained hyphens ("-") was truncated.
Eg if the password was "foo-bar-baz" it was being saved as just "foo", leading to an auth error.
This was tested on a fully patched 25.11-RELEASE.

I'm not able to replicate this. The "-" is saved in the config file

Hmm, you're right. I have no idea what was going on there, but upon re-testing, I can't reproduce either. Sorry for any time wasted.

Not a problem. I'll mark this as Closed, since it cannot be reproduced.
