Description

Hi,
was using RC3 with squid+lightsquid.
Upgraded to the build to "Wed Aug 3 19:24:43 EDT 2011".
At reboot probably something goes wrong with package detection.
See the attach.
Also after reaching 100% of first package, the upgrade stalls.
I open the web interface, have the banner with the hard disk bitmap telling me a package reinstall is ongoing, and the from the console I can see the package install going ahead.
It reached 100% then stalled again until I clicked something in the web interface.
It did the same for squid and its dependencies. Each package reached 100% and stalled until I clicked the interface.
The whole operation took 30 minutes on a Xeon 2.8 Ghz. After the (long) upgrade it seems everything is working.
The machine is running on VMWare 4.1. On the same host there are other 4 pfSense that work without an hitch.

Package not found error still present with today's (built on Tue Aug 9 15:52:55 EDT 2011) build.
Upgrade was faster, but there is definitely something wrong when reaching 100% of each package reinstall.
The machine stalls, no I/O for disk or network, no cpu usage.
Console stuck on 100% and responsive to "ENTER" keypresses.
I must go though the menu to have it go ahead.
Started from RC3 and perfomed several upgrades.

  • Category changed from Configuration Upgrade to Package System
  • Affected Version set to 2.0

I haven't seen any package reinstall issues in general of late, sounds like this one may be something specific to that one box.
