PPP and 3G: Setting PIN in advanced options not working, stick works after removing SIM PIN

Description

Recently tried to install a 3G Surfstick on pfSense 2.0.2 x64 stable. Didn't work until I removed the PIN from the SIM card, though I had the corrrect PIN set in the advanced PPP options. Error in PPP log until I removed the PIN was

 CHAT: The modem responded with "ERROR" to the command [some string] at ModemCmd: label.

I don't have [some stirng] now, because I didn't copy it for googling, only the left and right part of it, sorry. So please, place a hint in the configuration that disabling/removing PIN on the SIM card might solve some problems. Stick is a Huawei E353u-2.
