Description

Currently pfSense requires that interfaces be actively chosen when setup. This is done via standard PC console or via serial port configuration. However if neither of these interfaces are available setup is not possible (without fun tricks like mounting the volume's slice and manually editing the config file then removing the cache, etc.).

I propose a fully automated setup where the LAN and WAN interfaces are simply chosen without configuration so that one may use a device without a display or serial console with pfSense. I don't know if this would manifest itself as a particular 'edition' of pfSense (a la Embedded) or what but it appears it would be much easier to use with this ability.
