Description
When the operation runs pkg update on slow connections (and probably on DNS failure) and Installed Packages Widget is open on dashboard it expects it to finish to draw dashboard and make menus usable. Move this call to background and add a message in the widget "Obtaining package information..."
Similar is done by System Information widget to obtain firmware upgrade information
