Description

The manual firmware update via the WebGUI is no longer working in PfSense > 2.3.x.
That feature ist very handy to update Instances without an Internet connection.

The Wiki Documentation is herein wrong as it points to the update method which was
used until 2.2 and the old GUI:

...is there a chance for getting this back in any way?

My problem is that I'm forced to keep some FWs in highly secured and isolated networks up-to-date,
due to patch management policies from our ISO-27001 / IT-Sec certification.

The "new" workflow" for upgrading offline machines looks like the following for me:
  • Backup Config
  • ReInstall PfSense in the new version
  • Restore Backup
    That looks very unhandy...

Am I force to switch this machines to another distribution due to this feature drop?
I hope not.
