Bug #6837
closedGateway Failover does not failback
0%
Description
I'm using default gateway failover, not gateway groups.
When my primary wan connection goes down, it's properly detected and the default gateway switches to the next gateway route.
When the primary returns to service, the one that's marked as the default gateway in system/routing/gateways does not become the default route again.
Shouldn't the gateway that is marked as the default be used whenever it's available according to dpinger? For those of us that have a smaller secondary wan connection?

It depends on whether or not one or both of your WANs is a PPP type WAN. Default gateway switching is still an experimental feature and some known issues remain with it, especially where one or more WANs is PPP (PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, or plain PPP).

Wait, what? Default gateway switching is an experimental feature? That checkbox has been there since at least 2.0.1 (built on Mon Dec 12 17:53:52 EST 2011). I don't have anything older than that to check but.... 5+ years seems like a long time for a beta-test :)
