Bug #727

defining a Gateway Group does not balance any traffic
Added by tom hensel almost 15 years ago.
Updated almost 10 years ago.
Description
the only traffic that gets over the second WAN interface is DNS traffic as defined in "General Setup".
in addition, adding a explicit firewall rule to use the group as gateway does not seem to have any effect.

This is a configuration issue, not a bug. Please use a support system to ask for additional help (like the forum or IRC). You do not reference your gateway group in a rule to match that would trigger the use of a gateway group.

did you even read the ticket?

Yes, and I also read your configuration, and saw that you were not using the gateway group at all in rules.
Make a thread on the forum, please, do not use the bug reporting system until it is a confirmed bug.

i did remove the rule due to the fact that it did not have any effect.
When submitting a configuration, we need the configuration as it is when it doesn't work. You didn't mention that you removed the rule in the original ticket submission, and without knowing where it was in the ruleset it's impossible to guess if you were using it correctly. Still - the forum the the appropriate place for this, not the ticket system, until it's a confirmed bug.
