Bug #7601

Dynamic DNS - Hostname should not be required for DNS-O-Matic
Added by Scott Reynolds over 7 years ago.
Updated almost 5 years ago.
Description
Background: DNS-O-Matic allows updates to be sent without a hostname or service specified, in which case all services are updated. However, the pfSense UI requires a valid hostname, and will not allow this case.
I hacked out all hostname validation to test the underlying update mechanism, forced an update, and verified on the DNS-O-Matic site that all services were updated. This suggests that only the UI validation needs to be updated.

Is this still a problem? There have been lots of DynDNS changes since this report, but I don't see anything that looks like this patch in place.
If it is a problem, please make a pull request on github instead of attaching a patch.

Though I cannot confirm the DNS-O-Matic service accepts the request, the GUI no longer requires the hostname.
