Description
Provide a way to perform config backups via cron instead of on every change.
- Status changed from New to In Progress
- Status changed from In Progress to Feedback
- % Done changed from 0 to 100
Would be more intuitive if the configuration options for scheduling backups used dropdowns or some other input method that is less tricky than cron formatting. Allowing the user to choose which input method they'd like to use would be nice.
And the ability to use both scheduled and automatic backup after each change.
Functionality to perform config backups via cron instead of on every change is added and works as expected. Tested in:
2.4.5-DEVELOPMENT (amd64)
built on Tue Oct 02 03:48:39 EDT 2018
FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p4
Still to consider making drop-downs or some other input method that is less tricky than cron formatting.
- Status changed from Feedback to Resolved
While there are more simple ways to configure the timing, there is no more flexible way than direct crontab entry. If we dumb it down to an "Every n hours" input, there will be people who want to make a backup every third Tuesday of odd numbered months except in a leap year.
So far the reaction to this change has been positive with no complaints heard.
- Target version changed from 2.4.4-GS to 2.4.4-p1
- Target version changed from 2.4.4-p1 to 2.4.4-GS
