Description

Hi,

as encountering DHCPv6 with Prefix delegation does not work together with PPPOE Server vice versa it is not possible to get a prefix with an interface where the IPv4 Uplink is PPPOE.

Do I get this bug right?
If my upstream WAN connection is PPPoE and I try to delegate prefixes via DHCPv6 it won't work?
That's exactly the problem I'm facing.
It's really hard to find a reason why my downstream clients won't get an answer from pfSense to a DHCPv6 solicitation.
There is sadly no possibility to set debug mode or increase log level in dhcpd.
My provider gives me a static /48 prefix JFYI.

Sadly nobody is taking care of handling this bug... My ticket is 6 month old now.

Seems like IPv6 is not on the priority list of the currently active devs, or nobody fully understands it. There are quite a lot of IPv6 issues open at the moment with absolutely no engagement or even fix in sight.

Flole Systems have you tested this on any recent builds? There've been a lot of upstream fixes so, would be worth a try. I don't have access to any PPPoE systems unfortunately.
