closedUpdate OpenVPN Client Export with OpenVPN 2.5.0 installer
0%
Description
OpenVPN 2.5.0 is out and needs added to the client export package.
- OpenVPN 2.5.0 has separate 64-bit and 32-bit MSI installers, old 2.4.x installer did both
- Installer changed to MSI
- Remove OpenVPN 2.3 installers and 2.3 "legacy" options
- ncp-ciphers has been renamed to data-ciphers for 2.5.0, but old name still needed on 2.4.x

Committed to devel (pfSense 2.5.0) for further testing

The installer works but there is a slight quirk in that the GUI launches when the OpenVPN install finishes, before the postinstall can drop in the config. If the client didn't have any configuration files before starting the process, the OpenVPN GUI throws an error stating that there is no configuration, just as the postinstall runs and does its thing. I didn't see a way to suppress the automatic start of the OpenVPN GUI yet. It's minor though, just an annoyance.

No negative feedback thus far and further testing I've done has been positive as well. Picked back to 2.4.5 for more feedback.

Please post on the forum for assistance. You haven't provided nearly enough information there.

Tested version 1.5_1 on 2.4.5-p1 64-bit installer worked and installed config properly but did present warning during initial OpenVPN installer due to no profiles being present. After clicking through warning, the installer restored from being minimized and upon clicking finish, the profile had been added correctly.
the above warning Niccolo is seeing appears to be from OpenVPN-Connect, not the typical OpenVPN community GUI install

Basic functions work, if anyone has new issues they find, let's move them to the forum and then we can open new issues if they turn out to be bugs in the package.

- Subject changed from Update OpenVPN Client Export with OpenVPN 2.5.0 installer to Update OpenVPN Client Export with OpenVPN 2.5.3 installer
Updating Subject as we need to update the OpenVPN Client Export package for 2.5.3, as it's currently on 2.5.2. Also this redmine should be closed out after and a new one made for the future.
