Bug #11378
closedUnknown OID error on ZFS install
0%
Description
https://forum.netgate.com/topic/160599/2-5-0-development-unknown-oid:
This installation error has been seen in ... pfSense-CE-2.5.0-DEVELOPMENT-amd64-20210204-2250.
Selecting ZFS (Auto) configuration on Fujitsu TX1320 M3 throws the following:
Sysctl: unknown oid vfs.zfs.min_auto_shift
To get around this, I first had to install Stable 2.4.5_1 ZFS (Auto) then perform Development Upgrade to 2.5.0
same error on 21.02(20210201-1628) VM install

I experience the same phenomenon when I try to install 2.5.0 Snapshot on TrueNAS with ZFS as target filesystem. When I install using UFS (UEFI) I'm not facing such error.
As you might guess, the underlying FS is also ZFS (TrueNAS default).

- File zfs_unknown_oid.png zfs_unknown_oid.png added
- Priority changed from Normal to Very High
- Target version set to 2.5.0
Confirmed here as well. After selecting the disk for ZFS and opting to continue, it stops with that error and won't proceed. See attached image.

It was removing CDDL from installer. I've pushed a fix.

Works here as well now. Install completed with ZFS and the resulting system has the correct filesystem type/layout.
