Bug #12260
openUpdate popup and version missmatch?
0%
Description
Always showing popup in the corner about the available update, every refreshed page, no setting to disable it?
A new ntopng stable version (v.4.2.0) is available for download: please upgrade.
In the bottom of the corner it shows as installed:
ntopng Community v.3.4.0
While the package is ntopng-4.2.d20210615,1
Maybe version identify mechanism could be improved?
Installed as aPFSENSE package:
ntopng | net | 0.8.13_10 |
Dependencies: webfonts-0.30_14 ntopng-4.2.d20210615,1 libmaxminddb-1.6.0 graphviz-2.44.1_13 redis-6.0.15 gdbm-1.20
Posted this also for ntopng repository:

Maybe of interest to let you know that this is also experienced on pfSense+ 21.05.2-RELEASE (arm)

Freshports has 5.0 available in it. We should update ntop to the new version.

+1 for this, if only to get rid of the unavoidable notification on every page load.

Possible workaround: Use a web-browser plugin like 'uBlock Origin' to select this 'popup' (it's a div actually) element and hide it.
You can use the element picker, or add following to 'My filters':
10.1.2.3##.show.fade.notification.toast
(replace 10.1.2.3 with the IP/name of you ntopng page)
