Updated about 1 year ago.
Plus Target Version:
23.09
Affected Architecture:
All
Description
Since upgrade from 2.6.0 to 2.7.0 there is something wrong with syslog. When increasing the file size of some logs leaving other at the default value the syslog is not obeying the settings it still rotate them all at the default file size value.
- Subject changed from Syslog file size to Syslog individual log file size not set
- Status changed from New to Confirmed
- Assignee set to Jim Pingle
- Target version set to CE-Next
- Plus Target Version set to 23.09
- Affected Architecture All added
Setting the log file size for individual logs is not reflected in the generated file: /var/etc/newsyslog.conf.d/pfSense.conf
Rebooting or resetting the log files does not help.
Setting the global log file size works as expected.
- Subject changed from Syslog individual log file size not set to Per-log settings for file size and retention count are not honored
- Target version changed from CE-Next to 2.8.0
This also affects the retention count, not just the log size. Easy fix, it's not using the full correct path to the XML values.
