Kea Static ARP Support (IPv4 only)
Added by Jim Pingle 5 months ago.
Updated 12 days ago.
Plus Target Version:
25.03
Description
Issue for tracking Kea Static ARP Support (IPv4 only) -- There is no option in the DHCP GUI to enable/disable the main "Static ARP" option per-interface as there is for ISC DHCP. The option is present on static mappings, but wouldn't function fully without the main per-interface option.
This isn't necessarily in Kea itself but may just need the option presented in the GUI, unless there is some aspect of it that conflicts with Kea.

This appears to be working as expected. When static ARP is checked on an interface, the interface gets the static ARP mode flag and won't dynamically create ARP entries, as expected. A client on the interface can't communicate to/through without an ARP entry.
Adding a static mapping with the static ARP entry box checked in the mapping creates an entry in the ARP table at which point, once the client is on the defined address, it can communicate to/through the firewall.
