Bug #5491

Updater notification correction
Added by Ivor Kreso about 9 years ago.
Updated over 8 years ago.
Affected Architecture:

Description
When you update pfSense from the new updater it says "Firmware installation successfully completed" even though pfSense is rebooting and is not available.
I'd change that sentence to "Update complete, rebooting...".
The "firmware" update may have successfully completed. It's on-disk, and synced. If that update involved changing the kernel, (or potentially drivers), then a reboot may be required.
- Tracker changed from Todo to Bug
- Status changed from New to Closed
"Rebooting Page will automatically reload in 90 seconds."
That message is nice with the countdown and automatic retries. There is a small issue that it also shows when no reboot was needed nor performed, should we open a new issue for that or should this one be reopened?
Unfortunately the GUI does not currently have a way to know whether a reboot was scheduled and so must assume it was. We are aware of this issue, however, so your having noted it here is sufficient.
Thanks.
- Affected Version set to 2.3
