Description

Even though the message on services/smtp page says:
"The hostres module is not compatible with VMware virtual machines configured with a virtual CD/DVD Drive."
After updating from 2.3.4 it is still active in the bsmtp config file.

Also for proxmox and virtualbox the 100% cpu usage is an issue so should also be disabled there.

SNMP, check for several hypervisors that cause hostres module high cpu usage
also skip setting it in the bnsmp config when such platform is detected without needing the user to save settings again
p.s.
'Proxmox' is not yet set in the system_identify_specific_platform() .. i don't have such a system.. maybe it should be a QEMU check.?. or maybe its a problem in hostres for all isvm() machines that have a cd.?

  • Target version changed from 2.4.0 to 2.4.1

PR looks OK but we can't commit to making sure it's in 2.4-RELEASE at the moment. We'll talk it over internally.

It looks good with a gitsync, but needs another test once it's in snapshots.

After the fix for #6882 this is no longer necessary.
