Feedback:
I believe the majority of support recommends https://etcher.io now https://www.balena.io/etcher/ as the preferred utility to write pfSense images. This has been a pretty foolproof tool for us to verify the issue is not LAYER8 between the image and the USB.

I would like to see a section for Etcher added, preferably near the top as it has been the most reliable tool I've used while sending out reinstall instructions. If anything is needed to get this added let me know.

Thanks

If you could provide a short write-up, similar to the others, I can put it in place.

I've already been working on this

Step 1: I updated the main shared reference doc with info on Etcher and made other updates as well

Next, I'll update the copy in the pfSense docs repository with some basic info on Etcher and point to the main reference doc for more info. The less duplicated text we have the better.

Step 2: I replaced the info in the pfSense docs with just the Etcher info, and linked to the main reference doc for additional information. This keeps the basic info in the docs so it shows up in the eBook formats (PDF, ePub, etc) but lets users seek out additional info online when necessary.
