Despite the comment, that option is ON by default. I just did a fresh install.

No, I just meant that I also have my own "tickler file" for needed package updates since some folks post here and many others just raise an issue on the pfSense discussion forum. I am not a Netgate employee but instead am a volunteer contributor/maintainer for the Suricata and Snort packages on pfSense.

This issue is resolved in the latest Suricata GUI package update posted in Pull Request #748 here: https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-ports/pull/748.
